Service Description

3D Forest & PNW Wildlife Diorama (PM) Over the holidays this year we made a trip home to spend time with family in the Midwest. On this trip we spent a day at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. If you ever have a chance to go, go! The Great Train Story is a gigantic historical diorama that takes us from Chicago to Seattle, and oh boy, did it inspire us! My Epic 3D Forest & Wildlife Diorama camp is designed for students who love working with their hands and are fascinated with the magic of tinkering, creating, building small worlds, combining, and reusing materials. It is an exciting 4-days of constructing an interactive tabletop FOREST scene. Let me just say, this is NOT the diorama you are visualizing or made out of shoebox back in the day, this one is the Epic way ;) We will deep dive into exploring landscape design and how to construct it with layers of foam, cardboard, recyclables, plaster molding goo, to BUILD UP our ground floor, hilly terrain, cliffs, mountains, boulders, and yes, a totally exciting and very cool waterfall and stream. Each day we will PROGRESSIVELY add LAYERS to our forests. Much excitement will rise as we begin to add wildlife and foliage details, such as, sculpting trees, bushes, applying various ground covers, flowering plants, roads, paths, animals (some provided), or making a tent, yurt, or even a hammock using natural and faux materials. Can’t wait! This is a perfect camp combo of creative freedom and PACIFIC NORTHWEST habitat study for kids like mine and yours. I can't wait to see what the kids will make this summer! Seriously, I cannot wait to make this Epic diorama with you all! EPIC CELEBRATIONS • Thursday @11:45am • Join us as we celebrate our artists with a walkabout EXHIBITION & TREATS! PLEASE BRING WITH YOU TO CAMP • Snacks & labeled water bottle • Clothes & shoes for getting messy & possible stained • Pre-applied sunscreen and/or cap as you see fit for OUTSIDE PLAY • Masks are optional currently
