Hello & Welcome! Art of Construction is the ultimate 6-week class for creative exploration, hands-on idea building, and making for children at all levels. In this unique after school Tuesday class created for kids, grades K-5, we will be alternating between building up through clay (kiln fired), constructing sculpturally infused 3D projects, and working up multimedia collage artworks. Often inspired by modern art and slathered in fine art principals, Epic makers will explore their creativity and imaginations to create works of art they will be so proud to share with you! **Thanksgiving week - NO CLASS 11/22 - final class 12/13** Here are our exciting Session #2 projects: • A choice of one or another hand-built holiday-themed luminary (tea light included) with plenty of wiggle room for personalizing. • An Epic 3D modern wood DIY birdhouse! We will build an outdoor 5-star hotel to feed our winged friends (sample bird seed included) throughout the winter season! I love building and working with wood and this is no exception. We will be working with various wood, shapes, hammers, nails, rulers, sandpapers, paints, paint techniques, of course personal design & dazzle. Protective eyewear is included in the building segment and I have recruited a a couple local Boy Scouts will be on hand to volunteer their building expertise and support for this Epic hammer & nail project. • A beautiful 2D multimedia self-portrait. Get your frame ready! NOTES 1. Masks optional, NO food, water bottles, optional. 2. Please dress appropriately on Wednesdays as some materials can mark clothing. 3. Ceramics is a multi-step process. There are many variables along the way that may result in breakage, color inconsistencies, etc. Unfortunately, surprises are out of my hands and also part of the many challenges and Epic adventures of working with clay. I also do my best to repair details for kids. 4. Epic Art supports a multiage learning classroom. Each project is created for any age to launch their individuality and wonder. All levels of experience welcome!
