Epic Treehouse Design (PM) This is by far one of my most favorite and most popular projects that we do every year! During this week-long camp, Epic Artists immerse themselves in constructing a multi-level house made of recycled materials. We will spend the week building UP with sturdy layers of PAPER MACHE (brown paper grocery bags) which are incredible light for transport home. We will dabble and explore with paint, oil pastels, faux plants, wood, stones, textiles, and more! Young makers will have endless imaginative opportunities to add secret caves, real or imaginary CLAY creatures, motes, waterfalls, riverbeds, moving parts like ladders or Tarzan swings, tents, hammocks, campfires, bugs, butterflies, or any other Epic detail they dream up! During our week-long CREATIVE PROCESS, students explore their own innovation and creative potential while developing skills in the three-dimensional realm. Treehouse Design is a very active project with plenty of work to be put in…constant motion and making. I luv this project and I cannot wait to see another forest of lively trees! EPIC CELEBRATION • Friday @3:30pm • Join us as we celebrate our artists with a gallery show in the studio! PLEASE BRING WITH YOU TO CAMP • Wear a mask everyday & bring another mask • Snacks (nut-free/see Epic Policies for details) & labeled water bottle • Clothes & shoes for getting art-FULLY messy & possible stained. • Pre-applied sunscreen and/or cap as you see fit for outside brain breaks. NOTES NOTES NOTES 1. Clay projects will go home with students on last day of class. If not, due to kiln schedules, I will drop off at your house, or you will be contacted to stop by and pick up your pieces. 2. Ceramics is a multi-step process. There are many variables along the way that may result in breakage, color inconsistencies, etc. Unfortunately, surprises are out of my hands and also part of the many challenges and Epic adventures of working with clay. 3. Glue guns are a necessary tool for building projects. Please note, I will facilitate, and any interns, all gluing unless student asks and passes a glue gun test competently. 4. Epic Art believes in the wonderful & unique benefits of multiage classrooms.
