Service Description

Epic Art is an exciting and engaging creative enrichment program offering after school classes, camps, and seasonal workshops for young makers! Epic Art WED. After School at ICC: Clay, 3D, & Collage/multimedia Grades K-4* / All levels welcome Arrive 1:45-2:00pm / pick up 3:30pm This 6-week after-school class combines clay, sculpture, and mixed media projects often inspired by history, inventors, and modern artworks. In each session we will explore and develop our art while using a variety of materials and spend time digging into each project. Your Epic maker will bring home multiple projects each session that will include a 3-dimensional sculpture and a hand-built kiln-fired pottery piece (available for pick up on the last day of class, and a 2D collage or mixed media artwork. Epic Wednesdays are wonderful opportunities for kids to make a mess, build, problem solve, try new things, meet Epic friends, and strengthen independence in a lively and creative classroom. *ATTN* Epic Art will provide pick-up & transport for Clark Elementary children only from school doors to ICC studio doors after-school Wednesdays. • Session I projects include: Functional Clay Monster Pots, Royal Paper Mache Figures, & 2D Fantastical Birds • Session II Projects include: Holiday Clay Luminary, Wooden Bird House Design (hammers, nails, color, etc. / sample food included), & Sumi-e Ink Self Portraits NOTES 1. Masks optional, NO food, water bottles, optional. 2. Please dress appropriately on Wednesdays as some materials can mark clothing. 3. Ceramics is a multi-step process. There are many variables along the way that may result in breakage, color inconsistencies, etc. Unfortunately, surprises are out of my hands and also part of the many challenges and Epic adventures of working with clay. 4. Epic Art supports a multiage learning classroom. Each project is created for any age to launch their individuality and wonder. All levels of experience welcome!
