Service Description
To finish out my after-school year in-person classes at Blakely Hall, and to ready ourselves for an Epic Art summer, we are going to create two very unique clay projects! To begin, kids will continue to work-on and practice their fine motor & hand building skills and create a beautiful & functional berry bowl in anticipation of summer picking! We will also venture into the most amazing project, and an extension to our clay-making, the human head. The human figure has been a basic subject of sculpture since its earliest beginnings. Each human face and figure are distinct, and artists throughout history have always been fascinated by this uniqueness, and you will too, after you see these beauties on your mantle! To create these clay-driven heads we will build a simple armature base and use non-toxic sculpting material to develop an understanding of the human figure by engaging hands-on, full goop mode, and to explore the feelings and emotions that are displayed in the human face. Seriously, I cannot wait to see what the kids will make! • Must be *6-years old by time of registration. • These are wonderful sensory based play and exploration projects with one useful & functional, and the other, an added opportunity to develop an understanding and appreciation for an important art form, the human figure.
