May: Magnificent Portraits

Service Description

In May, we will discover Spain's Jaume Plensa's monumental face sculptures and public artworks, including the fabulous Echo, a sculpture located at our Olympic Sculpture Park in Seattle! Artists will explore 3D construction as they design and build their own magnificent portrait. Students, with OR without experience in making, will travel through the process of designing in 2D, all the way to creative & colorful construction in 3D. This personalized hands-on project will explore every step of the creative construction process using various materials such as, chicken and/or mesh wire, plaster, clay, paper, aluminum, tape, various tools, paint, and more. This is an incredible class for our bigger kids and a creative adventure one you do not want to miss out on this Spring. At the end of the week, artists will bring their hard work together with a mini-exhibit for our fans. We luv our class exhibits as they create confidence & community connections for our artists to shine & showcase their success.
