Service Description

Sweet Art, Summer Vibes & Epic Clay (PM) This week is a total ART treat with deliciously playful and artfully messy projects for my Epic makers! We will spend the week exploring, playing, and constructing with a buffet of awesome materials. We will start our week learning how to make a cake-themed CLAY (kiln fired) POT to keep our little special things in at home! We will dive into making a magnificent POP art mixed media ICE CREAM SCULPTURE mounted on FANCY DIY DECORATED WOOD BASE (just like in a museum). I will also sneak in an ALL ABOUT ME self-portrait on CANVAS! An expressive and vibrant portrait that kids always love to make using tons of different art materials. This is a wonderful week for young makers to experience an array of art projects such as clay and paper mache but it’s also about constructing things from recyclable materials found around the house, BRINGING IDEAS TO LIFE, as well as, having the time to enjoy our creative process with jolts of COLOR, TEXTURE, SPARKLE, and discovery, through constant creative motion. I cannot wait to see what the kids will make this week! EPIC CELEBRATION • Friday @3:30pm • Join us as we celebrate our artists with a gallery show in the studio! PLEASE BRING WITH YOU TO CAMP • Wear a mask everyday & bring another mask • Snacks (nut-free/see Epic Policies for details) & labeled water bottle • Clothes & shoes for getting art-FULLY messy & possible stained. • Pre-applied sunscreen and/or cap as you see fit for outside brain breaks. NOTES NOTES NOTES 1. Clay projects will go home with students on last day of class. If not, due to kiln schedules, I will drop off at your house, or you will be contacted to stop by and pick up your pieces. 2. Ceramics is a multi-step process. There are many variables along the way that may result in breakage, color inconsistencies, etc. Unfortunately, surprises are out of my hands and also part of the many challenges and Epic adventures of working with clay. 3. Glue guns are a necessary tool for building projects. Please note, I will facilitate, and any interns, all gluing unless student asks and passes a glue gun test competently. 4. Epic Art believes in the wonderful & unique benefits of multiage classrooms.
