Service Description

Issaquah Community Center: Pottery, 3D Construction & 2D Exploration for Kids Epic Art is an exciting and engaging creative enrichment program for young makers! During our 6-week sessions, makers will have an opportunity to explore, engage, and indulge in a variety of mixed media projects such as, clay, collage, painting, sculpture/construction, printmaking, fiber arts, up-cycling, and more. Each session students will bring home multiple projects that include a 3-dimensional sculpture and a hand-built kiln-fired pottery piece (all available for pick up on the last day of class). Epic Wednesdays are wonderful opportunities for kids to make a mess, try new things, learn about cool artists, and meet Epic friends. PROJECTS...... · Jan 11- Feb 15: (1) The coolest hand built Clay Cereal Bowl to hit your breakfast table (kiln-fired & food safe) (2) an awesome Alberto Giacometti inspired plaster & mixed media figure action sculpture and (3) fun play with color & printmaking. · Mar 1-Apr 5: (1) An expressive hand built and functional CLAY FACE planter pot that will surely be adored with the coolest "hair" plant (2) a spectacular African animal-themed mixed media wall Sculpture, and (3) a Takashi Murakami inspired 2D floral Collage. · Apr 19-May 24: (1) A kiln-fired magical mini-CLAY HOUSE for fairies & gnomes for indoor/outdoor imagining and (2) the coolest 3D "I Am Your Biggest Fan" mixed media desk figure for that special person in our lives, and (3) if time permits, a beautiful frame worthy watercolor & ink self-portrait! *EPIC PICK UP AT CLARK & NON-CLARK DROP OFF **Clark Elem. students* will meet owner/instructor Angela Bizzari in front of Clark at Wednesday’s dismissal bell for attendance AND walk together to the upper studio for class. We will snack, chat, and doodle until we start our weekly 2:00pm art lesson. ***Non-Clark Elem.* students are welcome to arrive anytime between 1:30-2:00pm in the upper studio. Limited to 14 students, registration is through our Issaquah.gov portal, not Epic Art.
