1pm-4pm / MTWRF / ages 7 & up Dates + Location TBD
- 350 US dollars$350
Clay Sculpture Warriors Mr. T Style & Weaving (PM) What an afternoon you will have in creating your own Epic clay creature, and this means letting your imagination go wild, and the sillier it is, the better! We will invent & create a story behind our fantasy creatures and wonder…will it have sweet wings, multiple eyeballs, crooked parts or disjointed parts, teeth/no teeth, braces, a beak, horn, webbed feet or claws, a spine-tingling hump, or a spiked mohawk or Epic crown? I will ask all kinds of creative prompts, such as, where does this creature live, what does it eat, what is your character’s special characteristic(s)? What is its name? Artists will work with wire and foil to manipulate and mold an armature on a dowel and wood base. We will use fancy light-colored air-dry CLAY and vibrant paint to cover and mold details as we bring our creature to life. In addition, we will take our sculpture breaks and enjoy the sun while chillin' and weaving friendship bracelets that are always a hit! We may Mr. T rage create all week, but one thing is for sure, we will witness some truly amazing and imaginative creatures! I CANNOT wait to see & hear what the kids will make! EPIC CELEBRATION • Friday @3:30pm • Join us as we celebrate our artists with a gallery show in the studio! PLEASE BRING WITH YOU TO CAMP • Wear a mask everyday & bring another mask • Snacks (nut-free/see Epic Policies for details) & labeled water bottle • Clothes & shoes for getting art-FULLY messy & possible stained. • Pre-applied sunscreen and/or cap as you see fit for outside brain breaks. *Glue guns: If needed, students will need to pass an Epic safety training before usage; more so, for all younger students or hesitant students, I will be handling all glue gun needs. MULTIAGE ART EDUCATION Epic Art supports multi-age art classrooms and has found that both younger and older students thrive in this type of creative, positive, and collaborative atmosphere, which can lead to endless opportunities for learning for all students. At Epic, we teach as a whole group, and then break up into small groups for guided instruction and individual support. Our pace is dictated by our Epic students and my mission is to ignite imaginations & support each students’ voice and vision.
