GO BIG! Big Paint + Big Weave (AM) Kids will playfully exercise all their creative muscles during this very exciting & colorful GO BIG camp week. Perfect for summer with its full-throttle creative freedom, artists will dig into a big mural project by learning how to mix colors & name their own hues! We will build layer after layer exploring different mark-making tools, like brayers, sponges, scrapers, and squeeze bottles. We will also creatively play with various paints, like liquid watercolors, BioColor paints, plus crayons, chalk, and oil pastels. This highly engaging mural project is perfect for an energetic and adventurous maker or for those who just want to try something new & seriously fun as we play & learn layer to layer. While we take breaks from our paintings, which we will need to do, artists will dive into an equally colorful CIRCULAR WEAVE project (luv weaving) made with various yarns and up-cycled fabrics. I cannot wait to see what kids will create during our GO BIG week! EPIC CELEBRATION • Friday @11:30am • Join us as we celebrate our artists with a gallery show in the studio! PLEASE BRING WITH YOU TO CAMP • Wear a mask everyday & bring another mask • Snacks (nut-free/see Epic Policies for details) & labeled water bottle • Clothes & shoes for getting art-FULLY messy & possible stained. • Pre-applied sunscreen and/or cap as you see fit for outside brain breaks. *Glue guns: If needed, students will need to pass an Epic safety training before usage; more so, for all younger students or hesitant students, I will be handling all glue gun needs. MULTIAGE ART EDUCATION Epic Art supports multi-age art classrooms and has found that both younger and older students thrive in this type of creative, positive, and collaborative atmosphere, which can lead to endless opportunities for learning for all students. At Epic, we teach as a whole group, and then break up into small groups for guided instruction and individual support. Our pace is dictated by our Epic students and my mission is to ignite imaginations & support each students’ voice and vision.
